Twisted Metal 2: World Tour

Although the graphics are only slightly improved over the original, Twisted Metal 2 offered better level design and a deeper combat system with the introduction of ‘special moves’ by entering certain combinations on the directional pad. You could jump, leave mines, fire your weapons backwards, and freeze your opponent which could set them up for some combos.

I gave this a quick play right now and found that it was much easier to control after spending some time playing Twisted Metal Black. The graphics are still horrible and the frame rate is choppy as fuck so it gave me a headache. The game’s pretty hard and the levels are generally pretty cool but after years of playing this game I’ve gotten tired of having to play through the Los Angeles and Moscow levels whenever I want to go through the tournament. Antarctica, Hong Kong, Paris, and New York are bad ass levels that show much improvement over the original game with destructible environments.

Twisted Metal 2 is still good but it really shows it’s age with the shitty graphics, controls, and lack of memory card support. I had to laugh at some of the shitty cars like Twister and Grasshopper. Every time I would use Twister’s special move I would get banged up and take on probably as much damage as the fools I was trying to fuck up. Axel’s a stupid ass design, un negro en la perdicion with two big ass wheels attatched to his arms. At least his special attack is useful. Aside from those weak fools there were dope cars like Mr. Slam. This is still a classic but it’s one of those “you had to be there ey” games that I doubt will impress anyone who’s never played it. I’m going back to playing Twisted Metal Black.
