Despite the constant question I’ve always had in my mind (what is the purpose of this site?) the one reassuring fact is the stats. I’ve always said that whatever’s on my mind is fair game for a post and here it’s no different. I thought it would be a good idea to share a look at web statistics as to where they stand right now. I’ve been averaging about 60-80+ unique IP visitors every day (it dips on weekends) which is more than I could ask for.
I know there’s quite a few people that check this shit out constantly despite the low comments. I don’t give a fuck really, the truth is this site satisfies my need to write. It’s like an outlet for the most part. That combined with the maintenance and overall tweaking of the layout it’s a damn fun hobby. The day it becomes a chore is the day I quit. Still I want to give it up to my bro Dcap for supportin’ this or else I would have pulled the plug a good while back.
With that said, I’m enjoying the best constant stats to date. It’s gone up and down but it looks like a good average now. It’s only bound to snowball with constant activity, where else will you find a ‘current’ review for Wipeout XL and a post about a GSP YouTube song? The thing is, everything has a purpose. There is a reason why there is a Friday the 13th review of the original movie. I slammed it. No objectivity, no look back at how it impacted cinema. Fuck that, if you were to pop that in your DVD player right now it would be garbage and I tell you so.
As an added kick, checkout the latest search results that lead people to this site:
People seem to be fascinated about Japanese Cholos and Ancient Aliens. I swear every day I check the stats there is some variant of these searches. That and the ‘definition of Chicano’ which I’m glad I got that off my chest a long time ago and it’s being read. Good building blocks I guess.
Anyway, that’s a behind the scenes look to what’s going on. Now I’m lookin’ for the next thing to post and it’s some random ass shit. The question is whether I think it’s a worthy topic to write about. Trust me, if I don’t think it’s worth reading I won’t waste my time writing 500-800 words.
